It is very common where a laptop

can check your current laptop RAM size easily.
Step 1:
In Windows, Go to My Computer or whatever your
computer name and press right-click, then choose Properties from the list. You
will find all the details of your laptop hardware and operating system there.
Here you can check out the Installed Memory (RAM).
Step 2:
Now you have to open your laptop
to check the RAM specifications (DDR1, DDR2, DDR3, Frequency, etc.) and an
extra slot for another RAM. It is a little difficult step because every laptop
model comes with different hardware assembling. Some are easy to get into while
others have hidden screws and require special tools to open.
To
open your laptop, first shut down it and remove all the connecting wires.
Remove the battery, put it upside down and open all the screws carefully with
the help of a screwdriver. Now you can
get into and check to remove the existing RAM to check its specification. Also,
check the extra RAM slot if available. If a slot is not available you have to
buy a single RAM in big size and replace it.
Step 3:
Go to a computer hardware store
and purchase a RAM of the size you want to upgrade (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, etc.) with
the same specifications as your laptop’s existing RAM. Make sure your laptop is
compatible with your desired RAM upgrade.
Now, put the new RAM in the slot,
close the laptop body and tighten the screw. Attach the battery and turn on the
laptop. If the laptop starts properly without the sound of any beep that means
the RAM has installed successfully. Check the new RAM size by following Step 1.
